Semiconductor Industry Veteran Brings Operations and Strategic Experience to Innovative Biometric Fingerprint Sensor Start-Up
Foster City, California, April 25, 2006 - Validity Sensors - a leading developer of biometric fingerprint sensors - today announced the appointment of Mr. Tony Alvarez to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Alvarez is the President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Leadis Technology. He became President and CEO of Leadis Technology after 18 years at Cypress Semiconductor.
Mr. Alvarez was Senior Vice President of the Memory and Imaging Products Division at Cypress Semiconductor. While at Cypress, he improved Cypress's SRAM market position from eighth to second in the world, with peak annual revenues over $600M. He also spearheaded all process technology development for Cypress. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Alvarez spent more than eight years in technology development at Motorola Semiconductor Products Segment (SPS). Mr. Alvarez is a Board Director at ChipMOS.
