Ramesh Kesanupalli Joins as Chief Technical Officer of Validity Sensors, Inc.

Industry Veteran Brings History of Product Leadership and Business Development Experience to Innovative Biometric Fingerprint Sensor Startup

San Jose, California, October 9, 2006 - Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately held biometric company specializing in high quality durable fingerprint sensors, today announced that Ramesh Kesanupalli has joined as Chief Technical Officer.

As CTO, Mr. Kesanupalli will be responsible for software direction, strategy, alliances, and strategic business development. His addition will further enhance Validity's capabilities to compete effectively in the fast-growing fingerprint sensor market.

Before joining Validity, Mr. Kesanupalli was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Product Operations at Phoenix Technologies (NASDAQ: PTEC), where he managed a team of several hundred people and was responsible for engineering, product marketing, and business development. Prior to his time at Phoenix, Mr. Kesanupalli was the founder of Middle Tier software provider for wireless Carriers for IP services delivery, Kinera, Inc., (now Telsima, Inc.), where he served as CEO more than 8 years. Prior to founding Kinera/Telsima, Mr. Kesanupalli worked very closely with IBM, Peoplesoft, and Gap on projects ranging from firmware to highly scalable distributed software systems.

Mr. Kesanupalli holds patents in wireless middle tier software systems and is also part of the CTO forum for Business Software Alliance for the Federal Government. He has also published papers in IEEE on Digital Image Processing and Edge Enhancements. Ramesh Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology, India, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Nagarjuna University India.
