Company Building on Recent Accomplishments to Make 2008 Most Successful Year Ever!
San Jose, California, January 7th, 2008 - Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately-held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions for information, communication and entertainment devices , announced that it has closed an over-subscribed round of $20 million.
The financing was led by Crosslink Capital, one of the most experienced names in the growth and technology investment community, and also includes other key investors, Telesoft Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, and Venture Tech Alliance. Concomitantly with the closing, Michael Stark, General Partner and Founder of Crosslink Capital, has joined Validity's Board of Directors.
The closing of the new investment punctuates a successful 2007 for Validity, a year that was highlighted by the introduction of the VFS201 product family and multiple tier one PC OEM design wins that will be shipping in volume throughout 2008. This week, the Company is exhibiting their latest innovations in Fingerprint Sensor Technology at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show, January 7-10, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
