Highlighting the Benefits of Using Fingerprint Sensors Instead of Complex Passwords
San Jose, California, January 27, 2010 - Validity, Inc., a privately-held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions, launched its Password Independence™ marketing campaign at the 2010 CES show in Las Vegas in January 2010.
Aimed at educating consumers about the usage and benefits of fingerprint sensors, the campaign demonstrates how Validity’s fingerprint sensors provide enhanced security and convenience compared to maintaining a multitude of complex passwords for logging on to personal computing devices and web-based applications.

“A large number of Notebook PC models are now shipping with our fingerprint sensors, but not everybody seems to be aware of all the features and benefits they offer. The video is an educational tool that shows a step-by-step process of enrollment and usage of fingerprint sensors for fast, easy, and painless security on computing devices,” said Mariel van Tatenhove, VP of Marketing at Validity. “We hope this tool helps spread the message about how easily and smoothly consumers can get Password Independence with the swipe of their finger.”
Validity’s fingerprint sensors are shipping in several Notebook PCs such as HP Pavilion DV3000, DV5, DV7 and HDX16 models, HP ProBook 6545, 6440, and 6540 models, Dell Vostro 1220, and Acer’s Aspire 6920 and 8920 models.
Validity continues its pursuit to educate consumers about the benefits of fingerprint sensors. The company has previously launched their Ease of use, Ease of Mind™ campaign at the 2009 CES show to highlight the various advantages of fingerprint sensors.
