Leveraging the High-performance and Design Advantages of Validity’s VFS301 Fingerprint Sensors

San Jose, California, July 7, 2009 – Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately-held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions, announced that its VFS301 fingerprint sensors are now shipping in Notebook PCs in two out of the top three PC OEMs.

Validity’s fingerprint sensors are being integrated into certain Notebook PC models with these Tier 1 OEMs. These Notebook PCs are focused on performance and consumer appeal, and are the first to ship with Validity’s VFS301 fingerprint sensors.

The durable and cost-effective VFS301 fingerprint sensor offers lower power, improved performance, a smaller form factor, and multiple customization options. The VFS301 is based on Validity’s LiveFlex® Technology, which provides superior durability and industry leading impact resistance.

Unlike competing technologies, Validity’s fingerprint sensing area is made of durable plastic and is completely decoupled from the silicon drive chip. By separating the sensing area from the silicon chip, Validity’s fingerprint sensors are able to maintain a large, high quality imaging area without compromising OEM customers’ cost targets.
